03.jpgWhile using a range of therapeutic models, I see the most client growth utilizing a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic approach. Often, clients may have completed years of therapy but still feel stuck in ways and haven't been able to make the changes they would like. Through exploring and bringing to awareness conscious and unconscious emotional conflicts, a client begins to understand her/himself in new, expanded ways that foster changes to old patterns of being and relating.

I work with many individuals who have experienced emotional, sexual, spiritual or physical abuse. Trauma effects can permeate one's entire life, leave one immobilized, and often include feelings of self-blame, worthlessness, helplessness, repressed anger and low self-esteem. Other common presenting problems are: anxiety, depression, trust issues, co-dependency, patterns of unhealthy attachment, boundary issues, perfectionism, loneliness, fear of abandonment or engulfment, addictions, PTSD, and sexual identity.

I offer brief crisis management and have special expertise in long term therapy for clients who want to make enduring change to feelings, thoughts and maladaptive (repetitive, unhealthy or self-defeating) behaviors. The 'working through process' can, eventually, free one from restricting, inhibiting, self-critical internal messages that interfere (and often block) one's ability to feel hopeful, worthy, deserving, capable, creative and enough.
